the week flew by - or not

well all because i have not posted in a few days does not mean i have not been working or busy. on Monday i babysat all day (no computer to post on) Tuesday i filled in as a pre-k assistant all day, no computer and way too many little children, then taught my photography. and today i was secretary for the day.
are their really people out their who do the same job every day of the week? how odd. really i can't understand that.
so the truth is i really have not had any free or 'bored' time in the past few day's. amazing even as a substitute secretary i had tons more work then i did at hadassah.
well 20 minutes till i go home, guess I'll go on facebook and write some emails.
have a good rest of the week everyone,
yalla bye

Bored at home- or not so bored

Sorry for that sudden departure on Thursday, the afternoon secretary come in early to switch me and I couldn’t finish the blog. She also informed me that they found a permanent secretary who would be starting on Sunday so I am done with my temping. Have no fear I have plenty of work lined up for the next few weeks.

I am going to try very hard to continue being productive while at home, which means I can do my work and not be interrupted by dumb people who are too lazy to their jobs and need me to do it for them.
So this morning I spent two full, uninterrupted, hours working on stuff for the summer camp. Its coming along nicely but I still have tons of work to do.

I also finished my lesson plans for today and for Tuesday which is great. Now I am off to go teach.

Have a great Sunday everyone,
Yalla bye

another day another dollar

Once again the computers were having a bad day, hmm do we really think that these new computer guys are so great if the day after they come to fix a problem a knew problem ALWAYS arises?

Today was a little tricky because my printer ran out of ink and it became this whole big thing about weather or not they should order more. Whatever I wanted to print had to be sent to someone else office. Anyway I am a little nervous that I might be done with this job before I have a chance to print the tons of stuff I need because they started interviewing today.

Well what did I do you ask? I started looking up arts and crafts projects and good out doors sports activities for the summer, I will be the head of the JAIS Summer Camp so have a lot of work to do. I am making a loose leaf off activities and from that I will decide the daily activities for the 3 weeks of camp. Applicants can e-mail me their résumé's if they are interested in working for me.

Next I e-mailed the JNF asking for directions to get the 9/11 memorial (and telling them in a nice way that they are really dumb for not publicizing how to get to the site.)

Of course more lesson plans, this afternoon I will be starting a new job at JAIS teaching a photography after school activity. I basically have the lesson plans from last year but I wanted to look them over and fix them up some.

All in all I'd say I got a fair amount done.

The rest of my morning will be spent looking up some more information on Atlanta (but I might actually have work to do because all the boss's are in the office) who knows.

Yalla Bye

Nothing to do when computers crash

Well this morning I arrived and realized that my computer's outlook was totally crashing and I had to wait for over an hour before I could start printing out the boss's e-mail (that is the main bulk of my day and work). Later the computer crashed again… and a technician came in... On top of all of that I leave early on Monday's because I have to go babysitter.

So what did I do with my few hours of free time?
Well I spent it looking up flash tutorials online and printing a bunch out.
That was really it I might have time to do some more Atlanta research but that looks doubtful as all the boss's just came in so I might have some work… but then again if my computer keeps crashing I won't get anything done. Whatever.
Not an exciting day what can I say, there is always tomorrow!

Yalla bye

p.s. after posting the top of this i spent the next30 min. looking up on JNF's web pages where the new memorial for 9/11 is in Israel. I know it is someplace near Ramot (or in the Ramot forest) but no place on any web page is it mentioned how to get to it. So the question is does it really exist or are people just circulating fake pictures of a supposed memorial that really does not exist?

Joyous Sunday

A happy Sunday to everyone! It actually has been a very nice start to the week, after doing an hour of work (I had lots of e-mails to print out this morning) I was done. I had taken a gamble that I would have lots of free time today and thank goodness it worked out. So my first order of business was doing my lesson plans for this afternoon. Yes I leave this job at 1pm and at 3 have to be in Talpiot to teach. In any case I had time to put together a really great power point presentation for my students today. It took over an hour to do because I wasn't even sure what I was going to be teaching. I would do a link to this cool photographer I found but last time I tired to put up a link it didn't work…

Next was travel agency time. My father will going to a convention in Atlanta soon so I started look up stuff for him to do while there. From what I've seen so far it is not the best place to travel to in the winter.

For everyone who was wondering the 'Cake Convention' last night was amazing. So much fun and there were TONS of yummy cakes to eat. My speech went well and my sister video taped it so as soon as it is posted someplace on line I will share the link with you.

Now I think I will just relax some, catch up on a few more e-mails, and eat my lunch!

I really hope the rest of the week is like this,
Yalla bye

Its Thursday

Well it's Thursday, I have now been working here for a whole week and must say I hate it! I can't stand working for someone just because they are too lazy to do their job (which they have plenty of time to do but are just LAZY). It also really bothers me how much resources they waste, this office is so NOT efficient. And all the money comes from donors. Do you see a problem with that? Well I do!

Anyway today was pretty busy because the person above me finally got the hint that I am only a temp. and will not be here forever so she placed an add on janglo so I have been printing out resumes all morning. Let me just say everyone is way too over qualified and will never last here more then 6 months. They say this job is an 'assistant office manager' when really it is the lowest level secretarial job that could ever exist. Talk about false advertising.

Sine it's Thursday I'm just too tired to do anything constructive. But I guess I should try and think of something good to do with my last hour of work this week.
Have a great weekend!

My apologizes to my followers

I must start by apologizing for not posting yesterday. All morning I had lots of free time and got lots done but at 12:00 all the big boss's came in and suddenly I had tons of work to do. I figured out that I actually 'work' about an hour a day so yesterday that hour happened to be 12-1 so I did not have a chance to post.
I was going to post first thing this morning but it turns out that today's hour of work was from 8:30-9:20 (yes I still have 10 more minutes of work I am anticipating later.
In any case this is my summary of Wednesday January 6.

There were 2 interesting things that I did one was going to Yad Vashem's web page (I realized that I am unable to post links like my predecessor sorry). I want to give them a copy of a family story I found. A great grand father wrote down his family story about everything they did in Switzerland during the Holocaust to try and help get Jews out of German. Anyway I want to give it to Yad Vashem because I think that it should go someplace. So I looked up their web page and spent a while learning about the programs they have and looking at all the stuff they do.

The other important thing I did was start to research our trip to Croatia. I have no clue when we are going or with whom but its fun to start the research.

That is all for now, again my apologize for the delay on the post (I do take my blogging seriously and feel bad about this miss)

Impressive if I do so

Well I got so much done today! I really have impressed myself.

Lets see first I found lots of clip art of baby stuff like bottles and pacifiers because we like to make fun home cards and my sister might be going to a Bris tomorrow so I thought I'd help her out (I mean it's only fair since she has helped me out so much over the past 3 months when the tables were turned and she was at this job and I needed her help.)

After that I spent a long time writing a letter of complaint about our neighbors dog and how it barks all night. You need to fax a written complaint in so it has not been done yet because no one had the time to write it up. Well that took me a long time because I kept having to look up words on googletranslate.co.il. After that I did a web search for their fax number, then a bunch of phone calls until I finally got it. All in all it was very productive.

Next I worked on my Bundt cake speech: I am going to " The Second Annual Cake Awareness Conference" soooo cool, everyone brings cakes and you site around eating and having fun and a few people gives speeches. So I decided that since I have so much free time to write a speech I want to talk about "how silicon has effected the Bundt cake." After the early stages of research I might just talk about the bundt cake and its history because there is A LOT to talk about. But tomorrow I will decide what else to do with my little speech. I mean I have to leave myself something to do on Wednesday and Thursday.

That is all for now, yalla bye

day 1 on my own

ok my first day on my own, i think i survived.
unfortunately i did not get a ton done. this morning the lazy secritary gave me something to do then left the office for an hour so i really didn't understand what she wanted and wasted my time trying to figure it out. when she came back, after having to ask her 10 times what she wanted, i did the task in hmm lets say 1 1/2 minutes. Yes it takes longer to understand her then to do what is asked of you.

now for the entertainment of the day:
- started off by putting firefox on the computer (i can't stand E so that was the first and most important thing to do this morning)
- i looked up coloring sheets and printed them so when i go babysitting later (yes from job to job today) i will have something to give the kids to do
- wrote some thank you e-mails
- started my speech about the Bundt cake, i will tell you all about that later in the week for now just know the bundt pan is a very fascinating thing

almost time for me to go,
yalla bye

new job and a blog all in one day

it is very interesting/ exciting for me to now be the writter of this blog and not just the devout reader/follower.

the long version of the story (it is currently 11:00 and i work till 1:00pm so yes it will be the long version) anyway my sister quite and forced me to be the temp. i say forced because i only found out i was coming when i saw her FB statuse which stated "fyi you are starting thursday" so last thursday i came in for training. Now i thought their was a lot of work but today it turns out that it was only busy because i had to learn how to turn on lights, boil water, use a key, hit print, etc. Today Devorah felt the need to come in again and make sure i really got the jist of things. i am happy to report that i am doing great!
So what have we done today well we spent the morning discussing dinners for the week, looking up stew recepies on line, printing them, and making a shoping list. all in all very good and productive.
i have made myself a 'to do' list for while at work. so i will start getting all those things done. today i was not able to acomplish alot because Devorah also wanted to computer and we had to share.
i guess that is all for now, i look forward to keeping you posted on my new adventures at this very high pressure job.
in case you could not tell unlike the one who created this blog i use alot of sarcasom and am very synical i hope you don't take it too personally.
have a great day! and remember it is only sunday 4 more full work days till the weekend (oh i forgot i am also a pesimist) :)

I'm back....for now

I know you have all missed me over the past two weeks and I apologize profusely but life is moving at a rapid pace and the blog just can't keep up!

I mentioned that I started an afternoon job in a computer company. Well, I am starting there full time! Today is my last day at this office (sob sob) so this is goodbye to the blog. Hopefully, I will enjoy the new job and not have time to blog.

But fear not loyal readers, I am not abandoning you. As part of on the job training for the new girl (who just happens to be my sister!!) I am leaving her the passwords to this blog. Yes, from now on she will be updating this blog and keeping you informed about her expliots at work.

Stay tuned to see how she fares in this overly demanding and exhausting job ;)
ciao.
